General Questions
1. What is AMAdea Music?
AMAdea Music is positioned as Eastern European's leading digital distributor, licensor and marketer of music content, featuring dedicated distribution network of over 505 stores.
2. Why choose AMAdea Music?
Our key music business approach is simple - "Working with artists, labels and distributors in a 360 degree capacity!" We believe the future lies in creating fair, sustainable and transparent partnerships with artists, labels, retailers and distributors.
3. Advantages of using AMAdea Music instead of going to download sites directly
The advantage of going through us versus going to iTunes or the other over 505 important sites directly is that you will actually be available at these sites if you work with us. Good luck trying to go direct. Even if you successfully negotiate a deal you still have the issue of encoding, delivery and ingestion. After that you need to develop a relationship with the programming staff so that your music gets placement on the site in real, not only in promise. Doing this for thousands of stores can be a lot of work and effort. Don’t waste your time, leave this to us and continue make music instead.
4. What rights would be giving away?
None. You keep all your rights. You keep all your publishing. We just license your tracks to sell in all the ways described in the agreement (non-exclusive) during the period of the agreement.
5. How much cost to get into the digital world?
We do not charge for digital distribution. There are no upfront fees or hidden costs. If you earn, then we earn – simple and equitable. You make the music, we sell it! However we offer availability to earn more with our Paid Plans.
6. Can I sign with Record Label after joining AMAdea Music?
Yes. AMAdea Music doesn’t tie up any of your rights. Thus, allowing you to sign with a record label after joining us. If by any chance you sign up exclusive deal with any Label, that require rights over digital distribution, then you are free to cancel your agreement with us or recommend us to your Label.
Paid Plans Questions
1. What are Paid Plans?

Artists earn 70% of the revenues.
Labels earn 75% of the revenues.

3. How much do our Paid Plans cost for particular albums?
It depends if you are going to upgrade a Single, an EP, an Album or a box set. You can find the rates here – Paid Plans Rates.
4. How long does the upgrade for particular album last?
All upgrades last 1 year. If, for some reason, you don’t wish to continue using a plan anymore or you have missed the opportunity to extend your upgrade for a specific album, it will automatically be returned to level FREE.
5. What are the actual benefits of using Paid Plans?
Upgrades are only for a particular album! This way you can manage your investment, focusing on specific albums from your catalogue, rather than all of them. If you notice that it would be more cost effective for any of your albums to collect more royalties, you can upgrade - any time - to plans suiting your albums best!
6. Can I upgrade only 1 album from my catalogue, not all of it?
With our innovative technology you can maintain different upgrades for your albums at the same time. For example: Album “A” is upgraded at level STANDARD, while Album “B” is upgraded at level PREMIUM and in the same time Album “C” is set at level FREE. Keeping different upgrade levels lets you boost your albums according to their estimated sales or shown progression.
7. Can I go from Standard to Premium?
You can always upgrade from STANDARD to PREMIUM, even if your paid subscription year isn’t over. This is very suitable and profitable to boost particular albums for additional 5% in royalties, without waiting and wasting time. If you see that your royalties are higher than your prediction you can go ahead with this option.
Artist / Label / Distributor Questions
1. How much do I get paid?
If you choose to use our Free option then the artist receives 70%, labels receives 75% and distributors receives 85% of all net revenues from the sales of their recordings from our retail partners. You can always boost your percentage if you use our paid Plans.
2. When do I receive payment?
Once the balance on your Accounting has reached the minimum pay point, then you will receive the amount owed. All payments are automated and processed monthly.
3. Is there a minimum payout amount?
Yes. There is a minimum payout amount for artists of ˆ 30, for labels ˆ 50 and for distributors ˆ 100. However you can raise the minimum payout amount to upper sum in order to avoid transaction’s expenses.
4. How can I receive payment?
You can collect your money as choosing one of the possible payment options (PayPal, Moneybookers & Bank Wire Transfer).
5. Can I pick myself the stores, where my release will be delivered?
Apart from many other distributors, we do offer this option to you. Once you are ready with creating and uploading, you will be able to choose where to sell your music. Even if it’s only one or two stores, we will deliver it. In addition you will be able to come back later and select more stores from our Partner’s list, if you wish so. Freedom is in your hands, feel it.
6. How long does it take to show up on the music stores once you deliver my album?
Each company is different, but in general it takes from 3 weeks minimum, to 6 weeks maximum. (Usually 4 weeks) Once we send it to them, it's out of our hands and they do what they can to get it imported and active in their service. We push them to get it added as soon as possible, and they always do it as soon as they can.
7. If someone downloaded my song today - when do I see that in my report?
Most companies only report to us every 1 - 3 months, but there is significant delay of time in the beginning of each new delivery. You should also take in mind the delivery process to stores, which last at least 4 weeks (1 month). In that case if you are delivered in beginning of January, then you should probably see your first report around April. For example, some stores send us the monthly report about 4-6 weeks after the month is finished. Meaning: you won't see your January sales until the first week of March. Some companies report a full 3 months after the quarter is done. But we ALWAYS show you everything we get as soon as we get it, and add the money to your account immediately. Remember we report only those sales, which has been already paid to us! Some stores delay payments, which is out of our control.
8. Will you tell me when my music is up on the stores?
Yes, but this will be only available for the top selling digital sites. Almost none of these companies let us know when your music is active! We're surprised and disappointed at this, and we hope it will change some day. But for now, we can only let you know, when your music is active on the top selling digital sites, which is still something instead of nothing. In addition we show you what date we sent your album to it, in your members login area under digital distribution/albums. Of course you're always free to go search for yourself on their system.
9. Why aren’t my songs on ALL the sites?
Basically what happens is that we send out every release that we have to all of our partners, and it is ultimately their decision what they post. That doesn’t mean that all of these sites have denied posting your music, as many of these sites have more limited capabilities and it can sometimes take a long time to get new material up. They also will be focusing more on getting the top selling albums uploaded before they worry about anything else. Therefore the answer is that it will either take more time, or that they have decided not to post the material. In addition there are some stores that pick music themselves from our catalogue, which is their policy and we can’t make them sell your music if they don’t like to.
10. What currency do I get paid in?
Euro (EUR). Currently all payments from AMAdea Music are paid in Euro (EUR). However, since we are mostly paying artists, labels and distributors via Paypal, it makes it very easy for them to transfer that money into any currency.
11. How many tracks can I upload?
Unlimited. Currently AMAdea Music doesn't have a limit for how many tracks you are able to upload.
12. I already have signed digital distribution with other company. Can I still work with you?
Yes, as long as you exclude the stores you are already delivered through the other distributor. Our digital agreement is non-exclusive and you can use our services for only those sites you are not delivered. In your account you will have possibility to mark only sites you wish. Remember, if you already have signed for digital distribution, please try to avoid doubling of albums to one same store, this can cause your completely exclusion from this particular store, which will affect your sales. Digital stores do not like to keep doubling albums.
13. I already have distribution in some of the territories.
You have ability to control territory restrictions in your account. In that way you can exclude the list of all territories you are presently on, we will not disturb your presence there. We will help you cover the rest of the world.
14. Can I make a change to my album, once I sign up for Digital Distribution?
No, sorry! These digital retailers were built around the major-label retail model, where once an album is released, it is NEVER EVER changed. So - just like the majors - if an album is remixed or changed in any way, it has to be put out as a whole new version: a new album with a new barcode, signed up as a new release.
Once you sign your album up for Digital Distribution, we'll inspect it to be sure all the info (publishers, composers, arrangers, copyright holders, barcode, etc.) is correct. Once we've approved it for delivery, you'll be unable to change the number of tracks on your CD, or any of their attributes (ISRC, name, publisher, etc.) in your members' account. So the moral is: be ABSOLUTELY SURE everything about your album is in order before you sign up for Digital Distribution! Changes will be difficult to make.
Still we are trying to help our clients and sometimes changes are possible, like modifying price or genre of particular release. Anyway we are doing this on private basis and we keep the right to deny such requests.

15. Why do I need a UPC barcode for digital distribution?
All major digital music outlets require your album to have a barcode. It doesn't have to be on your CD artwork. It just has to be in our system, so we can send it to these companies. If you already have an UPC barcode from some other place, you will be able to add it to our system during uploading.
If you are going to add a barcode, please make sure that it is exactly 12 or 13 numbers. Also make sure you have not used that same barcode yourself on another album.

16. What is an ISRC and how do they work?
An ISRC is a code that gets embedded as data into your song. It works as virtual identification and is a bit like a barcode. Without an ISRC your song could played for free in areas which would otherwise entitle you to royalties.
17. How do I get my ISRCs and UPCs?
AMAdea Music provides to all clients from all territories ISRCs and UPCs for FREE! Of course you will be able to provide ISRCs and UPCs by your own during uploading process in appropriate fields.
18. How do I clear the samples used in my grooves?
Talk to some lawyers about sample clearance, but do NOT sign up for digital distribution until you've paid them for permission, or else some mean nasty lawyers will sue you.
19. What is a DMS?
DMS is the abbreviation for Digital Music Store. (i.e. iTunes, MSN Music, etc.)
